Funny Because it’s True

Thursday, March 30th, 2006

So why does it make me squirm in my seat a little?
Thor forwarded this to me…
“He owns eleven pairs of sneakers, hasn’t worn anything but jeans in a year, and won’t shut up about the latest Death Cab for Cutie CD. But he is no kid. He is among the ascendant breed of grown-up who […]

Okay, Ferris

We’re in the car on the way to Quinn’s daycare, “Miss Ana’s” when he starts to complain that his “tummy doesn’t feel good” and he’s “got a really bad headache.” He then proclaims, “I think I no can go to Miss Ana’s today, Mommy. I too sick.”
It’s started already? At FOUR??!!

It’s Been a Busy Week Life

Wednesday, March 29th, 2006

Coming off Quinn’s birthday last week and diving right into a different kind of frenetic buzz.
Thankfully we had at least one day of recuperation before this, then this and this happened. Then we launched this which led to this. Yeah, my head is spinning too. And that doesn’t even cover all the client deliverables […]

Rescue Me

Sunday, March 26th, 2006

My new favorite piece of online software can be found at http://www.datarescue.com/photorescue/. And Thor is my hero.
Let me explain…
Yesterday was Quinn’s “really, really, really big pahty”, as mentioned in my post the other day. It went off without a hitch. I think the adults had as much fun as the kids. We had Enzo, we […]

Sign On The Dotted Line

Friday, March 24th, 2006

Today’s the day we have to make our final decision about the unexpected opening at the “little slice of heaven” school. It would mean Quinn would start attending in April. It would mean I have to actually drop him off at a specific time every day. It would mean I have to give him a […]

Ain’t Nothin’ Like the Real Thing Baby

Thursday, March 23rd, 2006

After months (literally) of daily mock birthday parties in his room Quinn finally gets the real thing. His birthday started early with a family dinner last night at a Mexican restaurant (complete with Mariachi band) and then kicked off this morning with a wake-up balloon bouquet. I think I managed to live up to his […]

And I Didn’t Even Volunteer at a Bake Sale

Wednesday, March 22nd, 2006

So I wrote a couple weeks ago about our family visit to the “little slice of heaven” school that I was hoping to get Quinn into for preschool in the fall. The application/thesis writing/ interview process was certainly far more rigorous than anything I underwent when applying to University. But this is preschool in San […]

If I’d Used It, It Would Be Gone

Monday, March 20th, 2006

My son is generally a very tidy child. In fact, I’ve taken to calling him Felix Unger due to his propensity for keeping his hands clean, taking pleasure in straightening up his room and his daily inquiry regarding whether or not the cleaner is coming tomorrow.
Lately, though, it seems his grasp of a well-kept room […]

I Stand Corrected

Saturday, March 18th, 2006

“Mommy, do that kind of flower that roars?” Quinn asks, making claw-hands up by his face and actually roaring the word “roar”.
(side note: While very articulate, Quinn has yet to fully grasp proper grammer and insists on the universal use of “do” for what, how, who, where — pretty much everything but “why” which he […]

Raising a Kid
I'm Quinn's mom. He's basically The Cutest Kid in the Known Universe. Ok, I know, your kid's cute too, but this one's mine. He was born in March of 2002 and came home from the hospital to a shower of Cherry Blossoms.

Founding Companies
In January 2007 Thor & I joined forces with Lane Becker of Adpative Path to found Satisfaction Unlimited. You can get a sneak peak by going here and clicking on any company or organization that suits your fancy. And you can get more insight by checking out our Satisfaction Blog. Previous to Satisfaction I was a founding partner of Rubyred Labs, a design driven Internet product development firm where we made cool stuff and enjoyed breakfast, particularly when it involved cereal, coffee and grapefruit. Jonathan Grubb is still running Rubyred.

Keeping the Peace
All this has left me craving a nap, but I still somehow manage to find time to travel with my brilliant and adorable husband (and sometimes my friends), experiment in the kitchen, and hit the town with my gorgeous, smart, single gal pals who are in search of kind, eligible men (I know you're out there...)
