I’m a Big Kid Now

Last night was Quinn’s first night without “Pull-ups”. He only wears them at night and hasn’t peed in them in ages, but I’ve been reluctant to stop using them. I keep meaning to get a waterproof pad for his bed first but, like replacing the bulb that’s been burned out in my bathroom for the past 6 months, it hasn’t happened. I finally decided it was time for him to graduate to a Pull-up free sleep and that I was going to live on the edge and take the risk of doing it sans accident protection — mostly because we had run out of Pull-ups and I didn’t feel like buying more.

He did great. And was very proud of himself.

This evening he peed in the toilet standing up. It’s not the first time he’s done this — he’s expiramented with it from time to time ever since seeing Daddy do it months ago — but this, coupled with last night’s accomplishment, made him doubly proud.

“I a big kid now, Mommy. I do big boy things. I wear underwear with a penis hole and I can poke my penis out and pee through it.”

Ah yes, you do big boy things, my son. Big boy things indeed.

Raising a Kid
I'm Quinn's mom. He's basically The Cutest Kid in the Known Universe. Ok, I know, your kid's cute too, but this one's mine. He was born in March of 2002 and came home from the hospital to a shower of Cherry Blossoms.

Founding Companies
In January 2007 Thor & I joined forces with Lane Becker of Adpative Path to found Satisfaction Unlimited. You can get a sneak peak by going here and clicking on any company or organization that suits your fancy. And you can get more insight by checking out our Satisfaction Blog. Previous to Satisfaction I was a founding partner of Rubyred Labs, a design driven Internet product development firm where we made cool stuff and enjoyed breakfast, particularly when it involved cereal, coffee and grapefruit. Jonathan Grubb is still running Rubyred.

Keeping the Peace
All this has left me craving a nap, but I still somehow manage to find time to travel with my brilliant and adorable husband (and sometimes my friends), experiment in the kitchen, and hit the town with my gorgeous, smart, single gal pals who are in search of kind, eligible men (I know you're out there...)
