A Time To Dance
A rare respite in our otherwise busy weekend. Having a lazy Sunday breakfast accompanied by Elliot Smith on the iPod. Quinn was suddenly inspired to hop off his chair and perform this interpretive dance.
Here’s a video clip. The little flourish at the end is not to be missed.

He’s adorable! The flourish at the end is wonderful, and I especially liked the little Elvis-grind in the middle of his performance as well.

Thanks, Lee. I especially love how UNselfconscious he is. I know that won’t last forever. *sigh*

Thor’s laugh at the end is great too.

Oh.
That’s a placemat with photos of all the presidents through Clinton.
Thanks! Interesting you say that — he does have a wise soul. Very tuned in for a four year old. Always has been.

My four-year-old will dance like this only in private — I have to sneak up on her to get a look at her performance. I have to say I’m a little jealous of Quinn’s willingness to share his moves with you (which, by the way, are too cute).

Thanks, Amy. Yeah, Quinn is a very open child. He really doesn’t hold anything back. I know we’re fortunate in that regard, but I also know it’s not likely to last so I make sure to fully appreciate it.
As for your daughter — you should sneak up on her with a video camera some time. That way you can watch her any time you please.

Hi, Amy, Tara said I’d love Quinn’s performance and she was right…totally enchanting and how wonderful you have it saved for all time. He definitely struck some poses that I’d like to freeze and turn into a garden sculpture. How cute it would be to come across a dancing Quinn amongst my flowers.

:). If you’re interested in a Quinn garden sculpture you should’ve seen our holiday card for 2004. I’m sure Tara has a copy. We used a photo of Quinn from a summer afternoon photoshoot.
In short — it was a summer vacation in Sand Point, Idaho. A naked 2 year old Quinn was frolicking on the lawn. He just kept striking these poses that were akin to a Baroque cherub. Thor took a series of photos, each one more enchanting that the one before it.
Of course we’ll use these photos as blackmail when he’s a teenager.

I finally got the video to work…..remember, I’m a grandmother! Of course he’s adorable, and the little flouish at the end was too cute. I bet I sat for 15 minutes playing it over and over…….way to go Quinny!

I know. I’ve lost track of the number of times I’ve watched. And I live with the kid.
