How I Missed It

So tonight I suspended my boycott of Giants games* to sit 8 rows behind home plate thanks to our friend, Jason. The game was actually really fun. (Shh, don’t tell.) We trounced the other team — The Mariners or Marlins or something? Started with an M-A and had something to do with water, I’m pretty sure. From Florida.
Anyway…

We’d eaten our dinner of All Beef Kosher Hot Dogs (Jason & Ani), Chicken Apple Sausage (me), Brautwurst (Thor) and garlic fries when the guy with the cooler of Ben & Jerry’s bars came by. Thor paid five dollars for a “Cherry Garcia” bar for us to share. Yum, right? Not so much. The bar was basically a perspiring shell of dark chocolate barely containing the melted goo inside. Thor, usually one to suck it up and make the best of it, decided he needed vindication so he left in pursuit of the vanished “ice cream” peddler.

Thor had been gone for ages and we had just started to wonder whether he’d been arrested by stadium police for public disturbance when I got a call from him. He’d dropped his ticket somewhere and couldn’t get back to us. I look down and lo and behold his ticket is lying on the ground under his seat. Thinking he’s just ouside the entrance to our seating area I hang up my phone, take both our tickets and go out to fetch him. But alas, no Thor. So I try calling him and he doesn’t answer. So now I’m wandering around PacBell, SBC, er AT&T Park in search of Thor. I ride the elevator a few times, trying different floors until I finally find him on the top floor.

And what do you think happened while I was in the elevator? The bases were loaded and Barry Bonds hit his 716th homerun. Jason and Ani saw it from EIGHT ROWS BACK. Thor saw it from the top concession area where he was licking the last of our replacement ice cream bar off his fingers as I arrived.
Jason rubs it in…

*Because parking in SOMA on game days is nigh impossible. And forget about trying to get in or out of the neighborhood before and after games.

Raising a Kid
I'm Quinn's mom. He's basically The Cutest Kid in the Known Universe. Ok, I know, your kid's cute too, but this one's mine. He was born in March of 2002 and came home from the hospital to a shower of Cherry Blossoms.

Founding Companies
In January 2007 Thor & I joined forces with Lane Becker of Adpative Path to found Satisfaction Unlimited. You can get a sneak peak by going here and clicking on any company or organization that suits your fancy. And you can get more insight by checking out our Satisfaction Blog. Previous to Satisfaction I was a founding partner of Rubyred Labs, a design driven Internet product development firm where we made cool stuff and enjoyed breakfast, particularly when it involved cereal, coffee and grapefruit. Jonathan Grubb is still running Rubyred.

Keeping the Peace
All this has left me craving a nap, but I still somehow manage to find time to travel with my brilliant and adorable husband (and sometimes my friends), experiment in the kitchen, and hit the town with my gorgeous, smart, single gal pals who are in search of kind, eligible men (I know you're out there...)
