Welcome Home!
When I come home from a trip I love nothing more than returning to a clean house. It makes me exceedingly happy. For this reason I always make a point of leaving my house clean when going away. This time I did not come home to a clean house. I did not come home to anything resembling a clean house. I came home to a toxic waste dump. Due to some work our landlord did while we were gone we returned — at 10:30 p.m. Monday night — to find every surface of every item and every piece of furniture covered in plaster dust. I nearly had a nervous breakdown. I actually had to stay home from work the next day to deal with it. I think my lungs are still coated.
And now I’m at the BlogHer conference. Or at least checked into the hotel — in my pj’s with Ani, drinking wine and watching Sienfeld. Our non-smoking room reeks of cigarette smoke and has this precious photo of someone’s cat over our toilet. The conference starts tomorrow. I’m not quite sure what to expect. I’m so accustomed to being one of about 5 women at tech conferences. I do believe this one will be about 99% women. Good thing the full moon’s passed.
