A Moment Captured
This was taken during our Seattle visit this summer and I think it’s one of my favorite photos of Quinn. I actually can’t believe the restraint he’s showing here. Birthday cake (and Ice Cream Birthday Cake, no less) is one of his favorite foods. And don’t think for a second that there was anything left on that plate by the time he was done with it.
And there’s just something really poignant about this picture. Maybe it’s because it’s symbolic of memories of similar warm summer evenings and festive celebrations outside as a child, just feeling utterly content. Or maybe it’s because it represents a poignant time with dear friends for whom everything is changing.

I know what you mean. I just want to squeeze his cute little face. Maybe I’ll go downstairs and do that right now.
