About

I’m Quinn’s Mom, co-founder of Rubyred Labs, wife of Thor and friend of many smart and delightful people. I live in San Francisco — a city I adore. I like TV a little too much, will make a sweaty fool of myself dancing for five hours straight if the d.j.’s that good and have been desperately learning to knit for about four years now.

I love grilled cheese sandwiches and chocolate.

My Work History in a Nutshell

I got my start in the Interweb over a decade ago working as Office Manager, then Production Artist, then Project Manager for Prophet Communications, an early Web design consultancy. A year later Prophet was bought by frog design where I served time as a Web Producer for two years before joining up with a spectacular group of women as Site Producer for Violet.com — sadly one of the first casualties of the .bomb. After the dust settled and a cathartic trip to Nepal I migrated to Brightwire — the design consultancy I’d hired to design Violet’s site. At Brightwire I refined my front-end development chops until March 2002 at which time I produced my greatest project yet — Quinn 1.0. Quinn 1.0 led to 18 months of blissful mommy time and eventually back into part-time consulting. Part-time consulting led to consulting with my husband which led to the formation of Rubyred Labs. And there you have it. In a nutshell.

Raising a Kid
I'm Quinn's mom. He's basically The Cutest Kid in the Known Universe. Ok, I know, your kid's cute too, but this one's mine. He was born in March of 2002 and came home from the hospital to a shower of Cherry Blossoms.

Founding Companies
In January 2007 Thor & I joined forces with Lane Becker of Adpative Path to found Satisfaction Unlimited. You can get a sneak peak by going here and clicking on any company or organization that suits your fancy. And you can get more insight by checking out our Satisfaction Blog. Previous to Satisfaction I was a founding partner of Rubyred Labs, a design driven Internet product development firm where we made cool stuff and enjoyed breakfast, particularly when it involved cereal, coffee and grapefruit. Jonathan Grubb is still running Rubyred.

Keeping the Peace
All this has left me craving a nap, but I still somehow manage to find time to travel with my brilliant and adorable husband (and sometimes my friends), experiment in the kitchen, and hit the town with my gorgeous, smart, single gal pals who are in search of kind, eligible men (I know you're out there...)
